Under an Emotional Hammer

March 6, 2022

Recent events in Europe - specifically, the military attack on Ukraine by Putin’s Russia, has shaken our sense of peace. The situation is serious as can be seen by the level of concerns expressed by international opinion, coz the aggressor possesses nuclear weapons and there is possible willingness to use them. This situation generates great stress and anxiety, especially among those who have families in the “old continent”. How does one deal with this overwhelming fear and sense of helplessness? Well, the easiest way - play with your inner power. I invite you to play WITH YOUR ARCHETYPES. What is this concept? The idea comes from the Swiss psychologist Karl Jung, who studied the unconscious mind and discovered a collective unconscious mind, which we are all connected with. He claimed that we all have the same archetypes – in other words, models of thought, belief, personality that exist in all of us - and we can access them and use these models to reach to our potential, achieve our goals or just live fulfilling lives …today, I will share with you how this concept relates to your life and introduce you to 4 of the Archetypes:

Warrior

Queen/King

Magician

Lover

I’d like you to think about which Archetype described below you feel related to the most, which one is the most dominating in your life, and which one you want to develop more to achieve balance in your life?

Let’s dive to your Archetypes.

We will begin with the Warrior, who represents Strength and Action! He is the part of you who takes massive action and follows whatever you say! As he doesn’t stop, thanks to him you can finish whatever you planned. He can hassle you and execute. He loves challenges! He helps to build muscles and courage. He is focused, loves precision; he can even sacrifice himself for good or bad. He has the ability to break through and to take massive action. He is a huge energy, which some people don’t cultivate.  They constantly procrastinate, and their warrior is asleep. A lot of us hesitate to take action and introduce changes in our life, procrastination is our well-known “friend”.

How about you and your warrior? Do you connect with him? What’s your relationship with this Archetype in your mind? Try to find your warrior and talk to him. The way to connect better with your Warrior is eg. bringing in just 1 new habit to your life (even if it’s uncomfortable) and transform it into a routine. Start fast walks around your block for 15-20 with conscious breathing exercises every day. This is a fantastic exercise to vent most of your negative emotions and it helps to build discipline. Your Warrior will wake up instantly. Go for a fast walk with your Warrior tonight!

The next Archetype is the King or the Queen – representing Vision and Stability. The King or the Queen bring chaos to order. Personally, I like the duality of this Archetype, like Yin and Yang energy, therefore I always refer to both symbols the King and the Queen, treating them as one consolidated Archetype. In their vision they act not for themselves but for community. They connect everything and everyone, they find compromise in every crisis and lift communication and cooperation to the highest level. This Archetype is a leader and thinks a big picture. The King and the Queen have ability to step back from the battlefield and strategize, plan and revaluate the action. They make adjustment to the game plan to find the most efficient and elegant way to achieve outcomes with less effort. Contacting your King and/or Queen is necessary for moving the Warrior to a well-planned action, to prevent his eventual burnout and to lead him to success. Ask your King and Queen about the Vision Board for you, ask them for help in answering questions:  what are your goals? What is the most efficient way to achieve your goals?

Being aware of these two Archetypes, now it’s time for you to meet the Magician, who represents your Wisdom and Intuition. He is that part of you which thinks that you don’t have to take on all the action by yourself. Sometimes stepping back and ceasing some action can bring other powers and circumstance to solve the problem. The Magician realises that everything is just a perception, we give the meaning and interpretation that we make up, and we can change this perspective in the blink of an eye. The Magician might believe that everything is perfect the way it is, and all we need to do, is to trust that it happens for a higher purpose. The Magician can achieve results by insight and changing perspective. He believes in manifesting the laws of attraction. He doesn’t need logic or reason and a need for rationality behind its thinking, for him EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE! There are no boundaries. The Warrior needs evidence (e.g. plan for action), the Magician trusts in the metaphysical nature of existence. He understands that there is a higher purpose, a universal order of things. He achieves more through meditation, he simply lets things go and happen. He doesn’t take life so seriously, he has got a sense of humour and softness, he has got a different balance to things and wisdom, he doesn’t trap himself in any pattern of thinking or analysis. The Magician can look at things saying, “You know, let’s look at this issue from a different perspective, maybe we need to change our approach”. I’ve learned once about using the analogy of the Star Wars films, the Warrior is like Luke Skywalker, the King and the Queen is like Obi-Wan Kenobi, but the Magician is Yoda :). Luke needs them both - Obi-Wan and Yoda - to act efficiently with his Warrior’s mentality. How does it sound? Are you ready to look for your Magician or your Yoda? He exists in your mind. You can get connected with your Magician through such practises as meditation, visualisation, manifestation of law of attraction – simply believe first, next see.

The last Archetype too is important to our growth so meet the Lover, who represent Unconditional Love to yourself and others. He is attached to Compassion, Sensitivity, Forgiveness, and Gratitude.

The Lover helps the Warrior to love and to develop compassion, including compassion for himself, to have fun, play.  The Lover takes care of people, nurtures people. He makes people enjoy their life more. Maybe you suffer from a lack of this love of enjoyment? You might need to look around your community and answer the question: “How can I help others?”, or maybe you need to start with taking care of YOURSELF- stop beating yourself up and stop criticizing your own action or lack of action. Whatever it is, the Lover will support you in the process and whatever decision you choose to do first. In a difficult situation, when it’s almost impossible to cope, the Lover can say “Look, this situation is very complex, it’s not easy to find the solution instantly. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You need to forgive yourself and give yourself more space for understanding”. He helps the Warrior to relax. The Lover brings the Warrior from constant “human-doing” to “human-being”.

The Magician says to you: “Don’t be so attached to things and expected outcomes, be more spontaneous and let the Universe/Higher Intelligence act, don’t try to do everything by yourself.” Lover accepts things as they are believing there is a purpose for it.

When the King and the Queen strictly stay with their plan, the Magician can come to the action saying “Hey, if everything goes according to your agenda that’s fine, but if not, it will be ok as well, coz we don’t know all the circumstance and there can be something really significant about to happen, something which is beyond your plan”.

As you see, all these Archetypes cooperate with each other, and they play important roles for your balanced life:)

If you think that is a theory, I say - yes, it is but ask yourself - is that useful for you? I reckon it is.

Now you are aware about your Archetypes, use them to plan and act in these uncertain times. An exercise for you is to write down all your questions: which ‘Archetype you’ leads? Which one do you lack and need to cultivate? If you need more action, look for the Warrior, if you need a plan, a structure for your life, you might need to attach more with The King and the Queen.

Invite them all to your internal discussion, treat these models in your mind as the springboard helping you to make decisions – what you can do in these uncertain times. How can you help those who need help? Instead of worrying about the future, ask the King and Queen how to plan action, ask the Warrior to move on, the Lover to support you with good energy and the Magician to make you to believe it is all possible 😊

I encourage you to follow our website and FB and Instagram. There, we share some interesting exercises that you can try. We also run weekend workshops every month about working with emotions.

I keep my fingers crossed for your exploring your own interior so that it will help you, like me, to free yourself from emotional paralysis.
