Stress has been with mankind since the beginning. Our ancestors usually reacted to stress in two ways - they either rushed to fight or to flee, saving their lives. However, evolution has changed a lot, we live differently, our environment is different and these primal reactions do not help us to relieve the internal tension caused by stress.
You must first decide that you want to learn how to transform stress to your benefit, so that it is not a nuisance, and then choose the technique that works best for you. Here are a few of them: yoga, stretching, walking, breathing, tai chi, meditation and visualization of yourself in a relaxed state.
Today let's look at breathing :)
This is one of the simplest, least appreciated methods. A trivial and at the same time very effective technique is to stop the activity, close your eyes and "consciously" breath for a few minutes. Deep, slow inhalations and exhalations bring relief. They allow for deeper thinking and even improve the metabolism of matter! while shallow, short breaths lead to nervous and superficial thinking and impulsive behaviours.
Breathing is the most basic activity. However, can we breathe properly and use the breath for deeper practices like effective relaxation? Psychologists who study methods of stress management emphasize that breathing is a constant technique used for this purpose. There are different schools of breathing methods: from simple deep inhalation through the nose and exhalation through the mouth for a few minutes to 50-minute yoga breaths combined with meditation. I encourage you to look for the techniques that suit you best. The Internet is full of short instructional video
Personally, I really like Wim Hoff's breathing. I have been using this practice daily for over two years. The benefits are invaluable. I am attaching a link to YouTube with his several-minute technique. That's all you can do for yourself :)
Did you know that about 70% of the toxins the body can excrete with respiration?! devoting a few moments to breathing exercise will relieve the kidneys and other organs.
