Christmas is coming and it is bringing with it a mix of excitement and stress. Trying to make everything perfect and find the right gifts can be overwhelming.
There are those among us who seem to have it all together: gifts neatly wrapped, menus planned, the Christmas tree already in its place. If you belong to this group, congratulations—good on you. All the others envy you immensely.
Then there's the other group—the ones who haven't even started planning. For them, even the thought of starting feels like an additional weight.
How can we navigate this feeling of being overwhelmed?
Firstly, pause. Put some time aside to write down a list of tasks that you need to complete. Break it down into smaller tasks like buying gifts, cooking, decorating, and other stuff you need to get done. Doing this early means less stress later on.
Keep it simple. Christmas is about being together and appreciating each other. Don’t go overboard with presents. Remember, it's okay if everything isn't perfect. What matters most is spending time with family and friends, not having everything flawless.
And one of the most important things - you don’t have to do everything alone. Ask family and friends for help with cooking, decorating, or other tasks. Sharing the load makes things easier and more fun.
The holidays aren't about being perfect or buying the most gifts. They're about spending time with the people you care about and making memories. By keeping things simple and enjoying the little things, you can get rid of the overwhelm and simply enjoy it.
With warmth
